If you are heels over head (as well as head over heels) in love with words, tarry here a while to graze or, perhaps, feast on the English language. Ours is the only language in which you drive in a parkway and park in a driveway and your nose can run and your feet can smell.

Richard Lederer is the author of more than 50 books about language, history, and humor, including his best-selling Anguished English series and his current titles, A Treasury of Halloween Humor and A Treasury of Christmas Humor. He is a founding co-host of “A Way With Words,” broadcast on KPBS.

Dr. Lederer’s syndicated column, “Lederer on Language,” appears in magazines throughout the United States and the San Diego Union-Tribune. He has been named International Punster of the Year and Toastmasters International’s Golden Gavel winner

Richard Lederer is the proud father of professional poker players Howard Lederer and Annie Duke and poet/memoirist Katy Lederer. Richard and his wife, Simone van Egeren, live in San Diego.
